How Can Doctors Be 300% Productive During Clinical Hours? To discuss productivity during clinical hours among the doctors, nutritionists, dentists, and other health practitioners, it’s important first to define what is productivity. Productivity for a surgeon would be measured differently than a medical doctor. But in any case, we can see that it’s dependant on two things: time and number of patients treated. This productivity can be calculated by the ratio of these two numbers, known as the T-to-P index (time to patient index). This way you can calculate your productivity easily and can track your progress over time. Productive During Clinical Hours Now to increase productivity you shouldn’t increase the time. If you are working 8 hours a day, it’s enough for a balanced life. So one last thing is patients. If you increase the number of patients, the productivity will increase but also the time per patient will decrease. Therefore you have to make sure that the treatment won’t get compromised. This simply means that if you can do your daily clinic tasks speedily and accurately, you can save time, effort, cost, and hence be productive. To be more productive in your daily clinic management, make sure your patients arrive on time (Appointment Scheduling System) you instruct them properly after diagnosis (Digital Treatment Planning) your billing is not a hassle (Billing Management System) How to make sure your patients arrive on time? Patients are also people like us. They never plan to be late and create a problem for their doctors. Most of the time, it’s just that in their daily schedule, they are so busy that they forget about the appointment, or something other appears at the same time which distracts them from their plans for an appointment. Now, to save this time, doctors can also help them. Most doctors do have a separate person who sends reminder messages which notifies the patients about their appointments. But humans can make mistakes. Instead of spending cost and effort on reminder messages, you can use a clinic management system which includes an Appointment Scheduling Software. This will send reminder messages in the morning automatically to the patients and you so they can plan things accordingly. Also if they want to reschedule something, they can inform you before time, so you can manage things accordingly. How to make sure patients act on treatment plans? Everyone wants to get well. Their visit to the doctor is the evidence that they are willing to do the effort. Now, this is a doctor’s job to guide them and don’t overburden them. But what can we do? The treatment, whatever it is, must be followed. In this situation, treatment plans can be of greater help. Digital Treatment Plans can assist doctors in explaining the required treatment, and patients can also understand these easily. This will save huge time that doctors spend on explaining things. The intuitive nature of treatment plans makes it easy to follow. Resulting in increased productivity. How to make sure billing is not a hassle? In the modern world, nowhere finances are managed manually. There are digital methods through which these things are managed. Further, in the manual method, there is always a chance of making a mistake. Or at least, there’s always a fear that have I counted all the amount. Adding to that, you need to hire a person who’ll manage these things. Instead of all this hassle, a Clinic Management Software can easily ease this thing. A Billing Management System cuts all these procedures and gives you an easy and intuitive solution to this. It will keep track that which patient owes how much amount, how much has been received and how much is due. It’ll also keep track that how much amount is spent on daily tasks, and where it has been spent. In short, transforming your daily tasks to a digital clinic management system will assist you in bringing the higher T-to-P index to your clinic and hence increasing your productivity. So if you want to increase productivity in your clinic, let us know.
5 Reasons To Implement Clinic Management Software In Pakistan? Why you need a computer? A smartphone? A bike or car? Or even a fork an knife? These are not necessary to live. You can manage things without these. But we don’t. And the reason is partly that we are used to it, but more importantly, it’s because, these things make our job easier, save our time, and reduce our efforts. Similar is the case with clinic management software. It makes your tasks easier, saves your time, and reduces your efforts. There is a study about this, which shows that a clinic management software increases productivity by 100 to 300 percent. Reasons to use Clinic Management Software A whole list of benefits of clinic management software can be found here, but now we’ll highlight only the top five. Appointment Scheduling System Billing Management System Telemedicine Treatment Plans Patient Records (EMR/EHR) We’ll look into these by one to understand what problems these are solving. Appointment Scheduling System You might have faced this issue that either the patient or you forgot about the appointment and some blunder happened due to this which resulted in a bad reputation of your clinic, hospital or institution. Now we are humans, not machines. Our strength is analysis and creativity, not memory. We have built solutions for such tasks, then why don’t we use these solutions. We can create a schedule, set appointments – which will also send reminder messages to the patients, and us so we can inform each other in case of any change in plans. Why aren’t you taking advantage of it? Statistics show that Pakistan is one of the most lenient countries which shows negligence towards health practices. If our government can’t solve problems, we will. We’ll find solutions for our problems on our own, and that’s what we are trying to do. Get rid of the pen and paper. Get rid of the token system, the parchi system. Control things efficiently. And use digital appointment software. Billing Management System Being part of this capitalist society, we know what importance money has gotten in our social institutions. And we cannot ignore the fact that the trust issues that we have today among ourselves, are mostly because of money. This society has seen much worse examples to trust breakage which leads to violence. Now one solution is to become a mystic and refuse all the worldly matters. Second is to become skeptical and observe your near and dears with the eye of suspicion. Or third, it to use a Billing Management Software which will tell you exactly about how much amount your account has, and how much is spent on something. There is no chance of doubt about its credibility because if you spend Rs 98, it will show a reduction of 98, and won’t round it up to 100. This little amount often causes huge losses. So trust your family, friends, and staff, and let the software do calculations for you. Telemedicine Until when you’ll keep on waking up, going to the clinic, and wait for patients. Time has changed and the world too. Now you don’t need to go to the station and ask for a taxi. You just use a smartphone. Whenever you need food, you can order it wherever you are. Similarly, isn’t it better than if patients need to consult a doctor, they can just turn to their phone and save time? We can’t hold an in-depth diagnosis, but basic consultation can be done so you can decide whether you need to get a proper check or not. In these things too, apt clinic management software is helpful. Though most clinic management software doesn’t have this feature, InstaCARE’s clinic management software does care about this. Treatment Plans “So dear, patient. Please take this red tablet in the morning. Blue one at lunch, and the green one before bed.” And the patient is lost. Efficient doctors never work this way. There is international standard practice for treatment plans where you create an editable customized digital treatment plan for your special patient. A clinic management software provides you with this feature that adds value and more credibility to your treatments. This way you can also track the performance of patients and can accommodate changes if necessary. Patients Records This is also linked with the previous feature. In our relatively modern society, most people, in terms of health, trust in one or two doctors. This helps the doctor in treatment as he knows the history of the patient. But this puts pressure on doctors to recall every time about past medications of the patient. This has become easier with the best clinic management system that takes care of the patient’s history and record. So you can easily refer to the patient’s past for any assistance. Let us know if you have any questions and concerns.
Best Dental Clinic Management Software in Pakistan The modern world is moving towards digital solutions. And it is a must for every businessman, artist, or social worker to take full advantage of these solutions. Otherwise, within 5 to 7 years, their existence will collapse. Now unlike every other person, the case with dentists in Pakistan is a bit different. The requirements of dentists are much more than an average doctor. The diagnosis process is very unique and treatment plans are also diverse. In such situations without updated dental clinic management software, it’d be much more difficult for them to manage especially in Pakistan. After all, they are dentists, not managers. Statistics on dentists’ workflow Time Management According to a study, only 27% of a dentist’s time is spent with the patient during an appointment. Due to lack of this time, they always feel a need to give more time to them. But due to other office works like record keeping, staff management, etc, they are unable to give proper time and hence end up giving over time in clinics. This huge amount could be used in many other productive activities. Like entertaining more patients, or sparing time for one’s own health, or spending time with the family, Appointment Scheduling This leads to another issue that is faced by dentists, which is appointment scheduling. The issue of patients coming late on appointments, or even skipping the appointment altogether without any notice is prevalent among our institutions. Most of the time, the excuse they come up with is actually not true and the real reason is often that they just forgot about it. This reduces productivity by up to 30%. If one of your patients doesn’t appear at the appointment, you loose two patients simultaneously, which is a huge loss. Finances Another challenge is to keep an eye on the finances. According to a study in Lahore, dentists spend one to two hours daily in managing their finances. Around 40 to 60 hours per month Adding to that, if one outsource this job or give another person this task, there is always a trust issue. You can’t trust any random guy to have access to all of your clinic. This risk keeps dentists worried and psychologically disturbed. Benefits of Dental Clinic Management Software In-depth benefits of a Clinic Management software is difficult to state here, but to name a few features that can add significant value to dentists are as follows: Appointment Scheduling Time is one of the most precious things in the modern world. A dental clinic management software will help you save your and your patient’s time. With the Appointment scheduling system, you’ll be able to plan the whole day, week, and month accordingly so there are no clashes between appointments. Moreover, the clinic management software will send them a reminder message, so they can recall their appointment and plan things accordingly. This way your patients know when is there turn and you also know when you can have a break and when to get back. This feature is discussed in the following clip: Billing Management It’s always a hassle to keep an eye on finances. And no matter how much precision you practice, there’s always a fear that have I counted it correctly. This fear can be eliminated by using a reliable dental clinic management software. It gives you access to all your finances in one touch. This way, you’ll never need to worry about finance management. Treatment Plans It’s better to guide your patients in their treatment plans. Treatment plans are something that is not so common in our culture but is really beneficial. Treatment plans basically draw a layout of what practices your patient should follow to get well. This way you can monitor if your patients are following the plan recommended and can make adjustments easily without confusing them a lot. Telemedicine Telemedicine or remote consultation is the future. In fact, it is prevalent among doctors even today. What it does is that you talk to your patient via video call and then recommend medicines that reach his home from medical stores integrated with your software. Plus if you have recommended some tests, labs integrated with clinic management software will take care of that. One problem is that it’s difficult to diagnose properly via video call. Most psychiatrists use it. Doctors use it mostly for quick check-ups or follow-ups. Inventory Management (for Hospitals) For hospitals and often for clinics, it’s difficult to keep track of inventory. Dental management software allows you to keep track of your inventory so you can keep an eye on the resources being used and in case you want to order more, you can do it easily by vendor integration option. These are only a few benefits that are mentioned. You can visit here for more details, features, and pricing of management software in Pakistan. For more questions, contact us here.

Exercises For Cricketers That Only Coaches Can Tell Health and sports go hand in hand. And expert advice is always necessary. So here we have brought to you 10 exercises for cricketers that only coaches tell their players for health, fitness, and better performance on the ground. EXERCISES FOR CRICKETERS Squats A squat is the easiest, most feasible, and effective exercise to build strength in your legs. Furthermore, it is considered by coaches as the best way to increase mobility and flexibility of hips. Catches win matches. There has been a special focus on the fielding aspect of cricket in recent years. Coaches want to make sure that their players are healthy enough to dive and save a few crucial runs. The proper way to squat is to increase the distance between your feet and move your hips ups and down as much as possible. Make sure you are not resting your hands on your knees for support. Places your hands behind your head, or cross them around your chest, or have some rod in your hand just for balance. For better reference see below. Single leg squat Single-leg squat, as the name suggests is the next level of basic squat exercise as discussed above. You might have seen PSL players, or any other cricketers doing these exercises before the match. One leg squat is pretty much similar to a squat, just that unlike squat, you are allowed to balance yourself only on one leg. This exercise is mostly used for rapid transformation for sportsmen and sportswomen. Through simple rational thinking, one can deduce that since much weight is on one leg, it takes more strength, muscle, and energy to do this exercise. Which leads to quick and solid results. Mostly PSL players and cricketers do this in combination with basic running. It goes like the one-leg squat, one step forward, one-leg squat, and so on. But for beginners, this combination is not recommended. Deadlift Don’t get scared with the word dead in the name. It just means that you lift a barbell and loses your hands to hang. As squat and leg squat helps cricketers, footballers, and other sportsmen in building their legs and hips, the deadlift is for arms, arms wrists, and shoulders. This is one of the exercises for cricketers mostly done indoors which is why you don’t see coaches, or PSL players doing this. For better reference, see below. Cross hip lift Your back is the point that connects your upper body with your lower body. So a cricketer needs to have a flexible and strong back. This exercise if for your back and hips. To do this, bring first, stretch yourself on the floor with your face directing towards the sky. Now pull your right (basically either) leg towards your chest. PSL players might do it for a bit longer time or as instructed by coaches, but for beginners, 4 to 6 seconds are more than enough. Now give it a rest, and pull the other leg. Continue this cycle for some time. The picture in the reference gives a better idea. Press-ups Press-ups, push-ups, are perhaps the most popular exercise in any sports. Further, it’s as vital as it is popular. It helps your arms, wrists, chest, thighs, feet, back, and neck. But unfortunately, most people don’t perform it right. The proper way to perform press-ups is instructed by coaches to players that stretch yourself on the ground facing the ground. On your feet fingers and placing your hands near your ears, create distance You can add things to this. Like on handed, or putting some weight. But, as you might have seen PSL players, they do it without extra obstacles which are better for rapid growth in flexibility. Medicine ball throws Medicine ball throws have been by far, one of the most challenging exercises for cricketers. It not only builds strength but also teaches how to control frustration, anger, and stress. The simple rule that even whatever force you exerts, it won’t bounce as much, which opposes our presupposed training. In such situations, one experiences how cricketers feel different emotions on the field. For practice, grab a medicine ball, hold it with both hands from both ends. Hit the ground with this ball with as much force you want. Repeat this exercise for 20 to 30 times. Bent over rows Bent over rows can be done with dumbells or barbells. The basic principle suggested is to lower your hips and then lift and down the barbell or dumbells. It’s important for your back, hips, arms, chest, and shoulders. Hang pull Stretching the body by hanging with a pole. It’s also one of the most famous exercises for cricketers worldwide and in Pakistan. There are high chances that you have also tried this exercise once in a local park or somewhere like that. Alternative arm superman We all remember Superman, especially while flying. This exercise is also similar to it. Just instead of your both hands in front and both legs stretched behind, you change between alternate arms and legs. So right leg and left arm in the air and then, left leg and right arm in the air. See below for a better understanding. Lunge with Torso Twist and Rotator cuff It’s a combination of two exercises. Torso Twist and Rotator cuff. Torso twist is by stretching your one leg and bending the other by lowering your hips. And rotator cuff requires the rotation of the upper part of the body around your hips. And then changing between alternate legs and direction of rotation. For clarification, see the image below: Coaches focus on individual players and hence most of the exercises circle around their health and fitness. For your personalized exercises, you can contact experts online here. Or visit us for more information at Instacare.
How Fatal Are Medication Errors Worldwide, And In Pakistan? How To Avoid These Nearly everyone, especially in Pakistan has gone through, bad experiences in the health sector. Things like the wrong diagnosis, disasters due to doctors’ negligence – even if it is bad handwriting, ill prescription, false mention of dose timings so on and so forth. These kinds of instances are prevalent among government hospitals. Though these ill practices are present worldwide, in Pakistan, these are up to an alarming frequency. Just to quote one instance, Umer Farooq Bajwa died at Sheikh Zaid Hospital due to a medication error during his liver transplant. Another unfortunate incident happened last week. Umer Farooq Bajwa went to hospital for a liver transplant for his mother and died due to a medication error that occurred due to human error. Wish we could save an innocent soul. #Instacare #healthcareforall #HealthCareTech pic.twitter.com/0qU2qg90zl — InstaCare (@InstaCarePk) February 7, 2020 There are innumerable cases of such treatments. The irony is most of these can be avoided without any excessive measure. What is a Medical Error? Simply put, a medication error is a difference between what the doctor intended and what he carried forward. In this definition, the quacks haven’t been considered because the whole treatment of quacks is a medication error since they don’t know what they are doing most of the time. A scholarly definition is given by Grober and Bohnen which says that a medical error is “the failure of a planned action to be completed as intended (an error of execution) or the use of a wrong plan to achieve an aim (an error of planning) (Reason, 1990). An unintended act (either of omission or commission) or one that does not achieve its intended outcome (Leape, 1994). Deviations from the process of care, which may or may not cause harm to the patient (Reason, 2001).” Types of Medical Errors: There are several types of medication errors. One problem in listing down all of these is that in different situations, certain kinds of error might or might not occur. For example, while using a digital platform for medicine management (like EMR or EHR), there are far fewer chances of the wrong prescriptions in terms of handwriting (as doctors are notorious for their handwriting). But just to name a few, the following is the list based on a study done by US National Library of Medicine and National Institute of Health: Diagnostic: Error or delay in diagnosis Failure to employ indicated tests Use of outmoded tests or therapy Failure to act on results of monitoring or testing Treatment: Error in performance of an operation, procedure, or test Error in administering treatment Error in the dose or method of using a drug Avoidable delay in treatment or in responding to an abnormal test Inappropriate care Preventive: Failure to provide prophylactic treatment Inadequate monitoring or follow-up of treatment Other: Failure of communication Equipment failure Other system failures Medical Errors around the world: As said before, medication errors are prevalent all around the world. In the US, 1.3 million people are injured annually due to medication errors. Around 9,000 to 24,000 people die annually in Canada. due to negligence of hospital administration. According to a study by the European Commission, the prevalence of medication errors in Latvia is 32%, in Denmark, it is 29%, and in Poland, it is 28%. Journal of Anesthesiology reports that in India, medication errors occur around 5.2 million times annually. And only in Delhi, 82 out of every thousand prescriptions contain an error. Medical Errors in Pakistan According to a study done by the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association, quotes a prescription error of 39.28%. It is found that 5.5% of pharmacists, 2.6% nurses, and 1.1% of physicians are negligent towards their practices. Only a handful of medical errors get attention in our media. And in fact, thousands of cases go without the attention of even the patient himself. No one will question that the deterioration of their health even after a check-up by a doctor, can be the result of a medication error. People make statements like this doctor doesn’t have shifa and that’s all. Only a handful of people understand that the negligence of the system could result in this unfortunate event, not the doctor himself. Abdul Latif Shaikh, president of the Pakistan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (PSHP), quoted that 5,00,000 people die annually due to some kind of medication error in Pakistan. Can we avoid Medical Errors? These errors cannot be removed over nightly but can be reduced significantly in a day just by employing a reliable and efficient Electronic Management Record system (EMR). By using an EMR software, issues like prescription errors, dosage errors, and wrong diagnosis will be reduced considerably. Plus, the efficiency that comes is additional. A lot of errors occur because of the workload on doctors. When an EMR software will share their managerial workload, they will be easily able to put more effort into diagnosis and spend more time with the patient. And hopefully, save a few beautiful lives.
What is the 2019 Novel Coronavirus? 2019-n Coronavirus is a family of a large number of viruses that belong to the bigger family of Corona RNA. Among these, other similar viruses are MERS-CoV, HKU-1, and SARS-CoV. 2019-nCoV is considered to be the deadliest but if proper measures are taken, it’s relatively easier to prevent it. History In December 2019, a cluster of people was identified with pneumonia in Wuhan, China. Inspection of these people revealed that it was caused due to a previously unknown virus then, named 2019 Novel CoronaVirus. Similar viruses were found earlier like in 2012, MERS-CoV, in Arabia and SARS-CoV were discovered in 2002, again in China. The initial study on coronaviruses was done in the 1960s and cases has been appeared since then. But mostly, the virus was of a different type hence a proper scholarly resource is not available. World Health Organization (WHO) has designed a help-page for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus for more history. Causes The researchers have proposed the hypothesis that maybe because of the open animal market in Wuhan, the virus has somehow transferred from animals to humans and got mutated. A detailed analysis of earlier viruses has also stated similar facts. SARS-CoV was spread through cats earlier in China and MERS-CoV was spread though camels in Saudi Arabia. Though the source of 2019-nCov has not been verified yet, the presence of the market indicates its possibility to be true. Symptoms Since it’s a newly discovered virus, all the symptoms cannot be stated with complete verification but considering the recent cases, symptoms of this special Coronavirus include fever, cough, runny nose, and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, it can cause pneumonia and severe respiratory issues. Children, seniors, and people with some severe medical history are more vulnerable to becoming ill with this virus. Coronavirus in China and Pakistan 425 people have died due to Coronavirus and around 2700 are affected by it. 80 has died within Wuhan. Older people and children are more likely to get attacked. The main source of expansion in Wuhan, China was the animal market. But now the primary way is through the air and respiratory systems among the citizens. Since its emergence, the WHO has announced an emergency and the Chinese government is also taking action to stop its expansion. Basic guidelines include wearing masks and keeping one’s body warm. In Pakistan, on the contrary, the struggle is to figure out if the virus exists or not. Till now, the tests and reports show that there is no Corona in Pakistan. 5 potential cases were treated which included 3 Pakistani and 2 Chinese individuals in Pakistan. Fortunately, all of them are found negative. What measures the Pakistan Government has taken? The government has set up corona info booths in various hospitals around the country that give emergency services and any related information. Dr. Zafar Mirza, State Minister of Health of Pakistan tweeted yesterday that they are thoroughly checking passengers that are traveling from abroad to Pakistan to make sure that corona doesn’t enter the country. 201/ At Islamabad airport this morning – received passengers from China along with HE Chinese Ambassador in ??
